Elodie Brenas Award

This award is given annually to the graduating M.A. or doctoral student in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of New Mexico who best embodies the spirit of adventure, openness to new experiences in foreign cultures and merit as a cultural ambassador for which we remember Elodie Brenas.

Collette Wallace Award

This award is given annually to the undergraduate with a major or second major in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of New Mexico who demonstrates the perseverance, warmth of spirit and love of foreign cultures that characterized Collette Wallace.

The Excellence in German Studies Book Award

The Excellence in German Studies Book Award is given to the graduate in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures whose pursuit of German fluency and whose knowledge of German culture demonstrate true dedication and intellectual achievement.

Stafania Gray Graduate Presentation Award

This award honors the graduate student who delivers the best paper at the graduate Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies Conference, hosted annually at Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of New Mexico.  In giving this award, the department seeks to recognize the intellectual achievement of the award recipient and to commemorate Stefania Gray’s contribution to the first annual CL/CS conference and to the intellectual community at the University of New Mexico.
