Sabrina Nguyen is a graduate student pursuing her M.A. in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies with a concentration in Classical Languages. Sabrina earned her B.A. in Classical Studies, European and Mediterranean History, and Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, graduating summa cum laude and with highest honors. 

Sabrina's research interests focus broadly on Greek and Roman social history. Her undergraduate honors thesis "Does Freedom Mean Free? Manumission, Marriage, and Public Perception in the Roman Empire,” analyzed the funerary epitaphs of women who were manumitted through marriage to their enslavers. Sabrina is currently interested in formulations and representations of identity and otherness, particularly those pertaining to metics and enslaved individuals in Classical Athens and ancient Greek literature.
