Kerry Poling
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kerry Poling holds a B.A. in comparative literature from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, and is pursuing a master's degree in French at UNM. He spent his twenties playing music, traveling, and holding every type of day job imaginable, in locales as far-flung as northern France and Alaska’s Bristol Bay. His research interests include representations of the romantic imagination in 20th-century continental philosophy, the history of ideas in the 19th and 20th-century novels, and the effect of media on subjectivity across the long 20th century. When he isn’t teaching or doing research, he enjoys playing the fiddle and repairing audio gear.
